****Spoiler Alert****

This page is for people who have been through it once, or don’t mind having the end spoiled for them. You have been warned.

If the player is already going, pause it. It’s not supposed to do that but still does. If the player is non-existent, adjust some settings in your ad- or popup-blocker and then pause it.

I have an imaginative mind, and consider myself a somewhat musical person. I’m always listening to something, and it’s hard telling what. My standard playlist consists of everything from Guns ‘n’ Roses to the Stray Cats and misses sparingly little in between. All of this influences my writing a fair bit, and I tend to see things as if they are a movie, sound score included.

But how do you score a book? Since they have yet to manage to make paper that can store music, this is as close as we can get for now. The meat and potatoes of the matter is very straightforward; below is a list of tracks, and a list of quotes from the book. Skim over the section once to look for typos that can throw off the proverbial groove. Next, adjust the volume of your computer so that you can hear it clearly and read at the same time. Finally, hit play on the song and read the section aloud with a bit of feeling.

I want to head off all legal action right now by saying I am in no way affiliated with any of these bands. I have not obtained permission to talk about them on this site, nor do feel I should have to. The player lets people listen to music free of charge without ability to download, a lot like that box out in my car called a radio. If you like this stuff, go buy it! This is the United States of America, and I have the right to say I like something, and furthermore, recommend it to friends.

Page 20 – She by Kiss

Start the song at “At long last the item of her quest ...” and end at “Leaning against the driver’s door of her car,” I heard this and thought of Amy. Then I heard the lyrics and laughed. I kept it anyway.

Page 23 – Mystery Girl by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Start the song at “The twin three inch pipes purred...” and end at “…more to make a mental note than to brag.” The song probably won't finish. I recommend listening to it the whole way through because it will make you cooler. Okay, not really.

Page 29 – Look at That Cadillac by The Stray Cats

Start the song at “The car slowly rolled toward the bridge.” and end at “There she was, leaning on the bridge," This song is ironic, and may or may not finish before he drives off.

Page 74 – I Won’t Stand in Your Way by The Stray Cats

Start the song at "He continued his reckless journey…" and end at “The passenger door had popped ...” Picture it in slow motion and you’re getting close to what I see in my mind.

Page 124 – Hennepin Avenue Bridge by Brian Setzer

Start the song at "A skinny guy…" and end at "Geez, that's cold!" It should line up hilariously well.

Page 140 – So Young, So Bad, So What? by Brian Setzer

Start the song at "The lady in the 300c…" and end at "…the rhythm of rockabilly.” This is a short blurb, but listen through the end of the chorus.

Page 239 – Be My Slave by The Meteors

Start the song at "The leafy gloom ushered…" and end at "The driver's window slid down…" Listen to the end of the chorus; it defines this guy.

Page 258 – Eclipse by Midnight Syndicate

Start the song at "The beast sat…" and end at "…a really bad coincidence." There are a few typos through here.

Page 276 – Forbidden Crypts by Midnight Syndicate

Start the song at "Set the flares out for me…" and end at "…echoed down the road." Read with fervor and it should go well to the music.

Page 281 – Noctem Aeternus by Midnight Syndicate

Start the song at "Her ghostly figure…" and end at "…screams of the sacrifice."

Page 300 – You and I by The Paladins

Start the song at "Lightning flashed over head…" and end at "…he feared it never would be." Start reading at "Over the roar of the flames", and hit play at "lightning…"

Page 308 – Highway Star by Deep Purple

Start the song at "The road whizzed by…"and end at "He clicked his stop watch…"

Page 327 – Race With the Devil by Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps

Start the song at "He normally couldn't get…" and end at "The gasser blasted by…" This one starts in the middle of a paragraph.

Page 333 – Power of Steel by The Meteors

Start the song at "The gasser rumbled…" and end at the end of the book.
